About Us

Carolina Lockdown AAU Program

Carolina Lockdown was started in 2024 out of pure love for the game of basketball
and desire to see it played right, and played well. Founded by Coach Khalif
Johnson, it is his desire to develop young athletes into solid
competitors with sound basketball IQ and a strong foundation of what makes an
athlete coachable, skillful, and desirable for their next level. We are excited you
have chosen to join us in working towards these goals.

Vision

Carolina Lockdown posses the vision to develop young athletes to be prepared for their next steps in their athletic careers, to be well rounded in their pursuits on and off the court, and to operate with passion integrity and respect, and to be empowered to serve as the next generation of leader in our community.

Mission

Carolina Lockdown Basketball will instill principles and practices of community-based program delivery. This will include development of basketball fundamentals and IQ, interpersonal and communication skills, and acts of service to local and underprivileged communities through philanthropic efforts.

Meet Our Staff

Khalif Johnson

Founder, Program Director, Coach

Hello, I am Coach Khalif Johnson, the Founder and Director of Carolina Lockdown. I have over 30 years of playing, coaching and skills development training. My vision and goal for Carolina Lockdown is simple: Throughout the course of the program, our team will evolve into a family with the common goal of development, healthy competition, creating memories to last a lifetime, but most importantly, learning life lessons that will carry these young men throughout life. My plan is to lead with integrity, be as transparent as possible, always display dignity, and keep a competitive edge. In doing so, I coach with humility, passion and great sportsmanship. I expect the same of not only myself, but our staff, our players, and lastly also families and fans. We will compete to win the tournament championships, but we will do it as a team, with respect for ourselves, our families, and our competition. In closing, DEVELOPMENT IS MY TOP PRIORITY for our program and I will not sacrifice that for wins. Welcome to Carolina Lockdown. The work starts now.

Mrs. Ebonie Johnson

Team Operations Coordinator

Ebonie manages the administrative aspects of the program. An occupational therapist by trade, Ebonie has a love for the game of basketball and is excited to see this program thrive.

Coach Ted

Assistant Coach

Coach Ted joined the Lockdown program in Summer 2025. He serves as one of our assistant coaches with the program. He is passionate about developing young athletes and teaching game and life fundamentals
